Chippenham and the surrounding, scenic villages of Lacock, Biddestone, and Castle Combe

The beautiful market town of Chippenham is located in northwest Wiltshire and approximately 86 miles from our capital city of London. Established originally before Roman times on a crossing of the Stunning River Avon, Chippenham has now grown to become a large commuter town with a population of around 45,620 people. Lying between Salisbury Plain to the southeast and Marlborough Downs to the east, Chippenham not only has the river Avon to draw in the tourists but the stunning scenery of the surrounding countryside and beautiful villages of Lacock, Biddestone and Castle Combe.

Another annual festival held in Chippenham is especially for the legendary American Rock and Roll star Eddie Cochran who tragically died in a car accident on the 17^{th of} April 1960, in Chippenham on his way back to London.
